Access for all

Our commitment to accessibility

Inspiring the Future Aotearoa is committed to providing a website and platform that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are working to increase accessibility and usability, and to follow current standards and guidelines. To find out more about this work, please use our contact page.

Guidelines and standards

The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) signed the New Zealand Web Accessibility Charter in 2020. We aim to meet our commitment under that Charter and conform to New Zealand Government Web Standard as specified by the Department of Internal Affairs. DIA states that:

“All public service and non-public service agencies must meet the NZ Government Web Accessibility Standard 1.1. This Standard is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the international standard for web accessibility. Effective 01 July 2019.”

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Following the guidelines will make the web more user-friendly for all people.

For more about the standards please visit About the Web Accessibility Standard (https://www.digital .govt.nz/standards-and-guidance/nz-government-web-standards/web-accessibility-standard-1-1/about-2/)

Code on this site complies with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards. W3C is the main international standards organisation for the World Wide Web. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards-compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.

Exceptions and contact details

We aim to follow these guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability. However, there may be areas of the site that don't achieve this.

We are working to make all areas of the site accessible. If you experience any difficulty accessing the Inspiring the Future website or platform, please contact us.
