Career Chat event resources

Inspiring the Future Career Chat events involve role models speaking about their career, followed by a Q&A for participants to learn more about their job and pathway. Repeat this with as many role models as time allows (around 20 minutes for each).

These short events are quick to organise and are ideal for small or rural schools. They work well with smaller groups of students and can be run with just one role model. You can easily run them within a single class period, making them a practical option for subject teachers to integrate into existing lessons.

  • Recommended age group: Any
  • Length of event: Usually 30 minutes to 1.5 hours
  • Recommended number of participants: Up to 50

    • Supporting transition to secondary school or subject selection
    • Subject-specific, eg, science careers
    • Sector-specific, eg, IT careers
